An artist in the making!

Here's a quick blurb I thought I would share... As far back as I can remember, I've always been drawing in one form or another, but never held on to anything. Well today, upon my return he from work, my son presented me with a little gift he made for me during his day. As you can see he is turning into quite the little artist himself! His words to me were: "um papa, I drew the Silver Surfer, Iron Man, and Spiderman for you. I suggest that you put it in a frame and hang it up". You betcha! Yes I will. In fact I will make sure of it and also make sure that he will have these great creations and memories for as long as possible! Oh and by the way, if anyone is interested... Prints to help support his college fund are available for a mere $10.00. A real steal and great investment from a great future artist!

Snitches get stiches

A little job dropped in our lap and so we jumped to the occasion. This 30" tall 3D foam sculpted duck tool all of one Sunday afternoon to put together. I'm not really sure how it will be used other than for an advertising piece. We love getting these last minute sculpts as they really keep us on our toes, so if anyone would like to challenge us and our quick abilities, bring it baby!

When you love what you do

They say time flies when you're having fun. Well we must be having fun because I just turned around and realized it's midnight. Time to call it quits for the day :(. The shop has been going gangbusters these past 3 weeks with little rest. The good part is that our yearly IAAPA trade show booth is really coming along. The bad part? Well, there really isn't a bad part. Exept for the fact that there isn't enough time in the day. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. Or should I say later today? Check out a teaser photo of what we are working on for our show.

It's been a busy summer so far

A great big sorry goes out to all of our followers, as we have not been doing a good job keeping our blog updated as it should be. However, we do have a good reason for it and that is that we have been extreamly busy here at the shop. Some recent cool projects this summer so far include: Two 18 hole black light miniature gild courses in Germany, a 10' tall sculpture of Michael Jackson, a life sized foam sculpture of Jerry Lee Lewis, a 16' tall Christmas Tree with equally scaled, over sized Teddy bear and train, Giant Wizard of Oz Ruby Red slippers and yes.... Even a large set of tennis balls!

For now, most of these new projects can be seen on our newly designed web page: http://www.custom-creations.com (another project that took us away from posting here).

I hope you are all enjoying your summer and look forward to posting our current projects soon!

Giovanni.

Sculptor Secrets! "shapes & sizes"

My little cousin Vincenzo stops by for a job interview. He was hired on the spot.
But if this video is being viewed by some government labor official ... NO he was not. I'm kidding. On the part about hiring him, not the part of his stopping by. or am I ? After all, this is Sculptor Secrets.

Sculptor Secrets (short term memory)

Sometimes we go on supply runs with so many things to buy that you tend to forget something, like where we parked the van or where I left my glasses. or simply....... wait, what was I talking about ???

Sculptor Secrets! (home work)

We never fear Homework. It's just our way of saying "WE LOVE YOU"
er-ah..... wait a minute, I meant "We love our job! Yeah, that's it.... We love our Job!

Sculptor Secrets!

That's right.... here at Custom Creations Theming AND Krazie Golf, we guard our abilities and techniques, so that our competition has to work harder to be as good as we are.  BUT... we are willing to share some secrets:

Baby It's Cold Outside

It's currently 19 degrees Farenheit here in New Jersey which is just wrong. 19 degrees. Let's try to understand what this means, shall we?

• Water freezes at 32 degrees. We would have been ice cubes 13 degrees ago.

• Frostbite occurs when temperatures get extremely cold. I believe we're there.

• You lose 32 percent of your body heat through your head. See the photos below to see my new not cute hat that I bought just for work.

I think you get the picture. It's cold. According to a bunch of website and maybe the Farmer's Almanac, we're headed for the coldest winter in five years. What does this mean to you?

Cold weather means staying indoors which means people want to play mini-golf and laser mazes. This is the perfect time to contact us to help you design your family entertainment center. Imagine the profits you'll be reaping this year as the owner of your very own and very cool black light mini golf and black light laser maze.

Take a look at some of our talented staff bearing the cold just to keep projects moving on time:

Keeping us busy will help keep us warm.

History of Mini Golf

Here's an interesting blog entry I came across about the history of mini golf at Dr. Fong's House of Mysteries!

Go give it a read. There will be a quiz later.

Update!

It's been a while since we've been able to update this blog. Luckily, for those of you wanting to know what we've been up to, you can read all about it at our Custom Creations blog.

You'll find photos of the team, our trip to IAAPA and a couple of projects that we recently completed. We're always on the move!

We'll try to keep this blog updated for those of you who can't get enough of black light mini golf. In the meantime, turn up your speakers and enjoy this video we made of Dungeons Dare, our latest black light laser maze!

Who's cooler than us? Nobody!

The new Black Light mini golf offering

Krazie-Golf is the new premier blight mini golf offering and brand identity for the already impressive work that is offered by the already long standing theming company: Custom Creations.  Company owner Giovanni Calabrese states that the product launch has been long overdue.  "We had been working on this for a long time and wanted to make sure that we had all the right people and product in line" states Giovanni.  "We take nothing but pride in our work and the creativity we provide certainly shows it".  "We had noticed that while we had always offered black light products, unless we clearly marketed the service, people would not know to ask us for it and thereby go elsewhere and ultimately, an inferior product".  Over the past 18 years, Custom Creations has designed and built so many different projects, but to showcase every one is impossible.  When customers did find out that they offered these services, they would call and say "oh, we had someone else build our course and they did not deliver what they promised, or their work was not as creative as yours".  With this information, Giovanni decided it was time to correct the wrong.

Krazie-Golf is the birth child of that ideology.  The company offers blown out creativity that concentrates on oversized sculptures for every hole, full 3-D ceiling props, obstacles, wall props and hand painted wall murals.  "The thing we stress is detail" states Giovanni.  "All of our props are meticulously sculpted and when we paint, we do not airbush, we hand brush everything"!  The method behind this procedure insures that every part of the Krazie-Golf package is crisp and bright to it's fullest detail.  When you airbrush, you need to water-down or dilute the paint.  Right there, you are not providing the best possible application.

One might say that the truth in the pudding", as Krazie-Golf has been secured by offices in Germany and will have that country's first ever black light mini golf course this July in Landau, with Frankfurt and Berlin to follow!  The Krazie-Golf ideology is well underway here in the states, with installs in Cincinnati OH, Poughkeepsi NY, Milford CT, Vorhees NJ and Plymouth Rock PA, to name a few!

While Custom Creations proclaims themselves as the "best kept secret in the industry", the secret has already been ousted by having received 1st place honors by IAAPA's acclaimed Best New Product award for their black light themed roller coaster ride as well as Honorable Mention for their 3-D sculpted signs at this years IAAPA tade show in Orlando FL.  "Certainly those awards were great acclamations by industry professionals confirming that our visions are on the money.  "We will be debuting the Krazie-Golf concept at the Bowl Expo this June and feel eyes will -open- towards what black light should truly be" states Giovanni
